Located in the heart of Saumur in Place Saint Pierre, close to the Château de Saumur, is our wine bar Bistrot Les Tontons where Gérald unites his two greatest passions: ‘food and wine’.

We provide simple, good, honest eats. Diners can enjoy simple, authentic bistrot fare freshly prepared on a daily basis, served alongside quality organic and biodynamic wines sourced by Gerald from local niche producers and across France.
Our lunches and dinners consist of 1-3 courses. Savour traditional home-cooked French cuisine served with a twist and ensure to try our Frites Maison, homemade and prepared by hand: they will remind you of the chips your Grandmother made.
Wine is of primary importance, and extraordinary wines from the Loire Valley and throughout France can be sampled, taken away or enjoyed in the stylish yet informal surround of the wine bar.
In short, we are not to be mistaken for a restaurant nor a brasserie! We are simply a cosy little bistrot seating a maximum of 25 people.
Bistrot Les Tontons is available for private wine tasting events. Small and large group bookings and private hire.
