Hello everyone,

I’m Philippa, soon to be realising the dream of moving to Brittany with my husband Allan and our two children, twins aged 11, Megan and Luke. In the past, I was a French teacher for many years. Allan and I are both in our forties and currently run a  business with Usborne children’s books so we will be bringing that with us. I’ve also recently taken on the role of Marketing Agent for Tots to Travel, which is a UK-based travel company that specialises in holidays for families with pre-school children, so am about to register as an autoentrepreneur. Does anyone have any hints and tips on this one?

Moving to Mohon

We have had our house in Mohon, in the Morbihan, for almost 5 years, and love the area. We’ve already established friendships here, but are really looking forward to getting out and about and meeting new people. We enjoy badminton and I’ve been in touch with the person who runs the clubs at Ploermel and Taupont, so are going to give that a whirl. Megan and Luke are currently in their last year of primary school in the UK, so will be “redoubling” and entering CM2 (2nd year of Cours Moyen, the last grade in a French primary school) in September, as I think their language skills need to improve before they have to cope with “college” (what the French call “college” is secondary school and in French, the term “redoubler” means repeating a grade).

The removal is booked for July 8th, so we are busy selling stuff on ebay and clearing the clutter. Our house in Yorkshire is on the market, so fingers crossed we will get a buyer! It’s been a long-held dream to make the move to Brittany and now the time is right. We are looking forward to the new challenges!
