Usborne books representative in Brittany and Normandy Well, I finally feel that we are truly here and ready for September in Brittany. The house in the UK is now completely empty- just needing a tenant now… fingers crossed! On 5th September we did a fantastic Brocante/Vide-Grenier in our village of Mohon. It was a superb day and we did lots of deals and got rid of a huge amount of junk and furniture which had been in our barn for ages.

I’ve been on a  few Tots to Travel property visits, and am following up some other leads. This is a great time as the main thrust for bookings will take place in January/February next year, so I can see that the next few months are going to be busy with new properties coming on board. Wendy Shand, the owner of Tots to Travel is also organising a webinar for House Owners, so once I have details of this I will post them here.

Last Tuesday Allan and I bit the bullet and took ourselves off to the badminton club in Taupont. It was a bit nerve-racking as you never know whether you will fit in at the correct standard or even if you will be made to feel welcome. Well, we needn’t have worried: it was great and the group was really welcoming. Mind you, the coach didn”t half put us through our paces! We haven’t played for several months so I was stiff until Thursday! Off there tonight too. Hopefully, I won’t take so long to recover!

Allan has also registered for French lessons with the UT: l’Université du Temps Libre and he starts at the end of September.

My other news is on my Usborne Books front. I’m going to have a stall at the Anglo Info Living, Working and Enjoying Life in Brittany exhibition in Josselin on the 2nd and 3rd of October, and I am also doing an interactive storytime plus craft and a book sale on Wednesday 6th of October at Elizabeille in Laurenan (I’ve become a bit a fixture there in the past month or so as it’s such a great place to go for a browse or to pick up crafty stuff or a bargain on the brocante stalls. There”s a farmers market there too every other Sunday). I’m hoping that the event on 6th October will be well attended by both English and French children.

Anyway, time is getting on and it’s off to badminton now!
