Iona has just found a young bird.

What-is-this-bird

What is this bird

It must have fallen out of its nest.

Its legs were completed tangled up with string.

Whist I set to work untangling the string, Iona made a ‘nest’ complete with straw, water and some cooked chicken, seeing as we didn’t have any live mice !!

We have put the bird in the shed. I do hope it flies away tonight…

Can anyone identify this bird?

Iona and Joe have had all their bird books out but we can’t be sure… is it an owl or a falcon / hawk type bird?
